ABOUT THEIR DAY
Our wedding was exactly how we wanted it to be. From the moment I proposed to us saying I do, we did everything our way. Jack is a shy person, as such we opted for a private family ceremony with a large reception, or party, afterwards. From the moment I proposed to us saying I do, we did everything our way. During our ceremony rather than wedding vows we had a tree planting ceremony including both of our parents which was not only symbolic but a nice touch to their ceremony. We loved how intimate our ceremony was while still being able to celebrate with all of our friends and family.
WEDDING THEME
We had a bit of a shade of blue theme, with some purple thrown in. The purple was symbolic of my battle with cancer in the months leading up to the wedding.
AISLE SONG
We picked “I Would” By Connie Talbot. The lyrics really spoke to me, it seemed to ask the questions that every couple asks while simultaneously answering them. Also I loved the piano chords throughout
CEREMONY SONG
Runnin’ home to you by Grant Gustin. Jack and I are both nerds and loved that this was from the TV series, the flash. But after going through my battle with cancer, the first few lines really highlighted everything we had already been through and everything that could happen in the future. Plus it was a slow song that didn’t really need to have a big dance choreographed with it.
FAVOURITE MEMORIES
There were so many memories that are so special to us. From having my specialist call me the morning of to tell me I was in remission, getting married (of course), being able to announce to our nearest and dearest that I was in remission, but mostly after all of the uncertainty that had occurred over the past few years (covid and cancer) being able to celebrate with everyone and being able to do so without restrictions was just icing on the cake
MORE ABOUT THE DAY
Bec from St Bernard’s was absolutely amazing from beginning to end and throughout all of the planning. Nothing was too small or to big and I cannot thank her enough for all of her hard work into making our day special.
Bec Pattinson Photography was superb, not only did she make us both feel comfortable but she captured every detail no matter how small.
Robyn went above and beyond the duty of a celebrant! She listened to us, made us feel welcome and made the process super easy. But it was not these things that made her amazing. It was her understanding of my journey and the countless offers to come to the hospital and to bring me anything I needed. We cannot thank her enough for this compassion and empathy.
ACE DJ’s Photobooth was an absolute hit with my nephew. Our attendant went above and beyond to help him and it kept him entertained all night long. Not to mention a few adults too
